Now for a stint on my soapbox... When you see a fawn with no mother in sight... LEAVE IT ALONE! Yes... that was a yell... The reason that mother isn't there is that she hid the fawn because you were coming... If there's not a dead doe within sight, walk away... If you wish, check back in 24 hours and you'll find that the doe (who was just out of your sight all along) went and got her fawn and all is well... This is their way... Leave them alone... Don't take the fawn to the rescue/wildlife/rehabilitation center only to be put in a pen on the walmart parking lot in 90 degree weather to be ogled at in an attempt to get donations to keep the pitiful little orphan fawn in such a place... Leave them alone to eat some nice lady's flowerbushes... ... and no... walmart is not capitalized in my world and flowerbushes is one word...
