Who's guarding the fort?!

Now that BHO's about to become emperor, who's organizing the Chicago south side?!

I see in a news article accompanied by a Google map with push pins marking the locations... that during this summer alone... Chicago has had roughly twice the number of murders than soldiers deaths in an actual war in Iraq!

Let's say that together... This summer alone... Chicago has had TWICE the number of murders than soldier deaths in a WAR!

And we're not even counting the number of deaths by New Orleans refugees while they're scattered across the country escaping another storm!  And definitely not the death count in New Orleans itself, this summer...

I'm sure that pretty-perky little Katie Couric leads off her broadcast every night with that chin of hers held low... and her young boy voice speaking low... while she reports the number of people that were murdered in Chicago...are TWICE as many as in Iraq this summer alone!

Ok... probably not...

Oh yes... one note to those who see the Google map... Zoom way in, cause in order to actually see the map, you'll have to zoom in... otherwise there's so many pins, they block the map... You can still see the lake... but there's so many push pins marking the deaths, the city is just a blur...

I've been amazed by the war death count reporting by the well-meaning, honest, accurate, we just report the facts ma'am, media...  I'm fairly certain the war deaths are accurately counted...

However if truth were actually reported... The number of crime related deaths on the south side of Chicago that are never even discovered are more than our war death count...

So... Who's organizing guarding the community fort I ask?

Oh...

BHO has been?  In that case!  Good job there sir!

When will your  book on "How I Organized Chicago And Lived To Tell About It" gonna hit the stores?

 September 5, 2008...

I'm guessing the democratic women are too confused to have a strategy other than CAT FIGHT!!!  I'm expecting a YouTube video any day now of wig pulling, spitting and hissing...

However... maybe they'll settle down long enough to think things through for themselves and stop listening to those old white haired fat white democratic men running the show...

If they were smart... (which has been called into question lately...) They'd help elect John and Sarah...

John would serve for four years... and retire... Then Sarah would run against hillery... and guarantee a woman president...

But... I'm not sure if they'll figure that out in time...

I'll just sit back and watch them elect an American - Kenyan that refers to women as, "Sweetie", and Joe Biden... Bless his heart...

Then we'll have another crop of male senators run for office in the next several elections... while they have the female pundits cat fight their way in front of the TV camera...

Maybe I'm wrong... Maybe it's just not time for a woman to run the show after all...

I'm very disappointed...

Thank goodness for SEC football! I think I'm gonna pull for Vandy tonight...

I like it when the old ball coach throws his visor...  It reminds me of some of the democratic pundits pitching a hissie...

September 3, 2008…Due to be edited at any time... This will be ongoing!

(In the Illinois state legislature) Barack voted “present”, 132 times… because deciding between yes and no was too tough… To be President of the United States, it’s not good enough to be “present”… Rudy Giuliani…

Change is not a strategy just as hope is not a destination! Rudy Giuliani…

Gloria Steinem… I’m much different than you and I’m thanking God the only thing Sarah has in common with hillery is one chromosome!

I’d like my readers to keep in mind when Sarah starts giving repetitive speeches about corkscrewing into Bosnia and ducking and running from sniper fire… Then I’ll realize she’s also lost it!

Why is it whenever I say Barack Obama… I say it like preacher Pfleger says it… BAAARRAAACKKK O…BAMAAAAA!... from his famous hillery is entitled speech?

Why is it that only certain people of color are included in the struggle… and only certain women are included in their cause… only if they're lefty-liberal enough… Otherwise… you’re an uncle tom or just like George Bush…

And speaking of George Bush… Democrats? Keep trying… I promise it’s possible to beat him this time…

The weak female democrat spokesperson’s rebuttal to Sarah’s speech last night was… "...it’s just more of the Republican rhetoric."  "…sounds just like George Bush!"

That was weaker than your response last week when Sarah was first introduced last week… when the democratic pundits said that crap about being from a small town…  You would be smarter if you were from a small town instead of dodging bullets on the Chicago south side!

I don’t know Barack or Joe personally… I just know them by way of different media outlets… and I don’t like what I know or see… They can’t in any way represent me… and after the lessons I've received from the democrats… It’s ok to say anything I want and snicker the whole time!

September 2, 2008...

The question was asked, "What if they find a girls-gone-wild video of Sarah Palin?"

Ladies and Gentlemen, even if they find a GGW video of Sarah Palin, she's still got my vote...

I have reasons to vote for her... I've found absolutely no reason to vote for BHO/Biden...

None... Zip! Zilch! Nada! Not one iota!

But democrats... let me know if you find that GGW video... Maybe you can play it at the same time as the "shoe dropper" video starring Michelle O...

...Richard's Roamings...

1. I see where Congress's approval rating is almost up to 18%... not quite... but almost!  These are our lawmakers people!

2. Why is it I hear almost every day... one of our congress people quote T. Boone Pickens... Do they get their information from TV commercials?

3. When are the battery powered transfer trucks and farm tractors going to hit the market...

4. Let's be kinder to our oil companies... We need them and their oil!  Without them, the Chinese won't have plastics to make all of life's essential gadgets we buy at the big blue box store on the edge of town...

5. I don't know about you, but I'm not buying gold... I'm investing in Planet Jr. garden plows... They'll one day be worth more than gold...

6. Sarah was the mayor of a small town of approximately 9,000 people... and Joe Biden ran for president and got approximately 9,000 votes nation-wide... which factor should I find most credible...

7. Jimmy Carter and Nancy Pelosi have something in common...

8. Jackie Broyles and I have something in common...

9. Be careful who you apologize to...

10. Don't worry... You won't be taxed... just the rich will be... So, as long as you don't have to buy food, clothes, fuel or anything at the big blue box store on the south side of town... you won't feel the tax increases on the rich... Do they really expect me and Fred Thompson to believe that crap?

11. It's important for the company that employs me...to make a lot of money... Very important... I'm still yet to be hired by a poor person...

12. This is not a "best of two evils" presidential choice...

13. Be careful what you ask for...

August 29, 2008... 2...

I'm astonished at the Democratic party's reaction to Sarah Palin!

The same group that offered me no option at all... I've not been given one reason to consider voting for even one of their candidates...

In my opinion, with all the negatives that BHO brings to the table... I can't understand why they sent their female spokespersons out to try and knock down this candidate...

It's sad... I guess they're antipathetic because she isn't like them... She's not a lawyer... She's bright... successful... a mother... a volunteer... a politician... a sportsman in many ways...

If I understand their arguments correctly... John should have picked another old, white, long time senator... The democrats apparently would be good with that...

They're gonna have to come with more than they did today to sway my opinion...

August 29, 2008...

OMG!

For the first time in my adult life… I am proud of John McCain!

Hope arrived today in Dayton, Ohio…  Who along with her family… was flown to Dayton aboard a Gulfstream jet that should be named… “The Envy of Al Gore!”

Ladies and gentlemen, I’m the founding member of a small group of proud Americans… T.R.I.C.T.A!  As an officer of TRICTA, I'm bound to maintain relative intelligence, think clearly and be a by-God American!

I'm not a globalist or a racist!

I have stayed independent and refused to be misled…

I have however been lied to…

I have practiced my advice to others and thought and acted according to my conscience…

I’m proud to have previously supported a woman seeking the American Presidency… and am proud to do it again...

I did not vote for or support John McCain in the primary… I’m conservative!

However...

Today, I was invited to attend a luncheon at a local eatery (with a big screen TV) by a small group of likeminded individuals… some of them might even cling to their guns and bibles… I wouldn’t know… But I’d be pleased if they did…

I don't mind my association with such individuals...

At this luncheon… by way of the big screen… I was introduced to the Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin… whom I knew just a little about… But with this introduction… my first impressions went off the charts!

I understood what she said… I agreed with her… and I can see she was a complete package!

It’ll take an amazing amount of dredged up negatives to bring her down to the level of her competition!

Just seconds after she ended her speech with, “And God bless America!”  I received a text message from another TRICTA official… that said, “No! No! No! Not God bless America!”

I couldn’t have said it better myself!

I certainly hope there are more clear thinkers out there than Kool-Aid drinkers!

So... now we have three Senators and a Governor in the race…

As I do the math… John and Joe easily cancel each other out… which brings my choice down to BHO and Sarah…

And my selection is Sarah!

Now! She has the real hope I can believe in!

I’ve been standing in the yard much of the evenings this week… Well Duke has too…

The katydids are about cycled out… leaving the frogs and crickets to serenade us…

It’s been nice and cool…

Thank the Good Lord for the recent rains… Washblue had gotten down to the lowest level seen by anyone we know…

But then nobody is living today that saw Washblue during the 1714-1715 drought… and I understand Georgia was having a terrible time along about the time George Washington died… as 1797-1802 was awful dry…

Dad was born in 1927… near the end of a bad drought that started in 1925… and he can tell you stories of fighting forest fires on the Georgia Coast in the 1950’s… when it was very dry… most of the fires went out when they had burned everything there was to burn…

I’m not really sure what caused these historical droughts… I don’t expect it was pollution like the unprecedented levels we now see in China… or the massive fossil fuel debacle… darn those internal combustion engines...

And it wasn’t the cutting of forests to build the massive number of cracker box housing developments, cause those droughts were before all that… and it wouldn’t matter if it was the cause, because we’ve got to keep building so all the immigrants coming here will have their own American dream home!

It couldn’t have been the palaces being built in the Middle East… They’re mostly Italian marble… and besides… They’re offsetting their ecological impact by planting grass in the deserts there so their children can play on lush golf courses instead of hot sand…

I wonder what it'd be like today if the internal combustion engine had never been invented... I guess all those cracker box houses would have 2 horse stables instead of garages...

And there'd be hitching posts at the outer edges of the grocery store parking lot where people would tie up their horses and oxen for sale to the illegal aliens...

Gotta stop typing now... There's lightning bugs to watch...

Have mercy! It is Joe Biden...

For the last two days as I was hearing it was Joe... I kept saying..., "Surely not!"

And for the last several days, I've listened to the party spin crew speak of how presidential it is that the team is able to keep a secret and play the world like a fiddle!

If they'd have been so good at keeping a secret, I wouldn't know who Jeremiah Wright or Tony Rezko are and I'd never had to listen to Bob Beckel explain how he's afraid there's a very big shoe dropping on Michelle Obama...  As for me... I don't care what she said...

And if the shoe never drops... It doesn't matter to me... However... If it does... I'm gonna laugh my butt off!

August 16, 2008... edited...

It's still amazing to me... when many politicians are asked a question... they just can't simply answer it!  They speak words and sometimes even make partial sentences... But I can't figure out what they said!

Yes... I'm listening to the interview of BHO by Dr. Rick Warren, at the Saddleback Civil Forum...

A question I'm hoping Dr. Warren asks is... Why don't we end the Korean War?  If we ended that war, we could bring home those approximately 37,500 battle ready troops that are still there... And then there are the approximately 40,000 troops in Japan...

When combined with the 71,000 that are assigned to Germany, England, Turkey and Italy... well you do the math... That's a bunch of Soldiers, Sailors, Flyers and Marines...

It appears the state of mind of many Americans is we could do away with most of these military people and spend that money on the welfare of those here who aren't doing such a good job of taking care of themselves...

By the way... I wonder if Jeremiah Wright's mansion is complete... We may need more faith based initiative money from the government so these churches can create $20,000,000 retirement packages for their pastors...

Blah... Blah... Blah... Spin-Spin-Spin... Blah... Blah... Blahhhhhh...

Bullshit!

Sorry... That just came out... and as the old saying goes... Four things come not back... the spoken word, the sped arrow, the past life and the neglected opportunity...  So that one has to stay...  I figure if BHO can lie in a church... I can get by with saying BS in my living room...

... Now for John...

So far, John has showed the massive divide between he and BHO... and John is not your normal right winger... Which makes BHO a far piece from me...

I've heard from many of my democratic friends, what a terrible speaker GW is... that he stammers and stutters and how you can't be a good president if you're not a good speaker...

Where BHO stuttered and beat around the bush... pun intended... John's been answering the questions quickly and right on the point... I don't have to wonder what he meant by his answer... for tonight anyway...

I like this forum... It's the best debateish event I remember...

Reasons for my vote decision discussed so far... Supreme Court Justice nominations... Who will take the interests of the United States first... Who will use our natural resources the wisest, key word her being "use"... Who will spend our tax money with reserve and intelligence...

John... You have a problem with your last answer... There is a divide in this nation... It doesn't matter what you do... There won't be a "coming together" if you are elected... or any other time...

The Civil Forum is over... One candidate answered each question... the other one answered some of them, but talked a bunch...

At long last... Bigfoot has been found! And in the North Georgia Mountains to boot!

No! Really!  I read it on the Internet!

I'm filling out the franchise paperwork now to obtain the exclusive rights to Bigfoot Lemonade Stands of North Georgia!

I'm so excited!

August 5, 2008

I just adjourned the August meeting of TRICTA…

BHO wasn’t in attendance… We only have one American Flag, which isn’t nearly enough to provide an adequate backdrop for a photo-op… and since press credentials aren’t handed out like wine and cheese, his entourage would be severely cropped…

Between that and the fact that TRICTA holds its meetings in a community of quiet people… who generally mind their own business and even put out scraps from dinner in case Duke comes by…

You know… The kind of community that apparently doesn’t need a community organizer…

I’m still interested in knowing what a community organizer does…  Who knows… We might need one in the future…

Let’s see… what would our community organizer do… If we had one…

 1.  Direct a parking plan for the folks who come to pick berries at the Pettit’s blueberry patch… and obtain proper signage from the county or state Department of Transportation…

2. Remind everyone when it’s time to clean out the bluebird boxes and obtain more government grants for repairs to the homes of these environmentally sensitive creatures…

3. Work with the County Road Department to install a safety underpass on our main road for the local wildlife to safely pass through… This would drastically reduce the amount of road kill...

4. Hire local children to scare off the federally regulated crows that will eat all the seed in a freshly planted corn patch in one afternoon, if left unattended…

a.   Fight the eminent domain attempt to provide a set-aside area in the community for the displaced federally regulated crows to stay and eat government supplied corn from automatic feeders… This would also provide a place where our local crows can meet crows from other parts of the world that are passing through on a search for a better corn patch... This would also help them be less antipathetic towards crows from other communities…

b.   Also provide a properly lighted and supervised 4-wheeler off-road course for the scarecrow-kids entertainment during their off hours to keep them out of trouble…

      5. Obtain counselors and other appropriate emotional help for the Mullinax's heifer across the river in the case she can’t handle the loss of another calf… Last year the poor girl bellowed for two days… I’m sure if that’d happened in Nancy Pelosi’s neighborhood she’d appropriate any amount of emergency appropriations, (i.e. your tax dollars) necessary to get the old girl some help! But here in our neighborhood, it’s just a thing… After all, she’s not a whiner but actually a tough old girl… Why just this spring, after a new calf was born… ol’ Duke saw her for the first time and struck out in a cold run straight to her!  While Duke was in that flat out run and listening to me holler, “Boy you better get back here and leave her alone!”… he was also wondering why she had that, “I’m going to eat you and spit out the bones if you don’t turn around and get the hell back on your side of the river!” look in her eye…

6.  6. Engineer a reversible wind generator system on Washblue Branch to provide power for the entire Pike community… Complete with sufficient battery storage… There’s a breeze continuously blowing down the creek that should provide sufficient winds to turn the blades… The need to have a reversible windmill and sufficient battery to power it for a day or so... is for when the neighborhood skunk loses control up the creek and we need to change the direction of the smell till it eases up a bit... Then we can go back to churning up power...

      7. And last but not least… Dad, being a senior citizen… could use some help with Duke… After Duke’s morning nap, the two of them go feed the fish in the hole below the falls… then usually go on a turtle hunt on the back road… Then when Duke gets back to the house, he takes a dip in the creek to cool off and get a cool drink of water… Dad then dries him off with a big pink bath towel so they can go back inside and catch a nap before lunch… Dad can handle him ok in the mornings, but since it takes a village and a community organizer to get things done these days… Dad could use a little help in the afternoons…

Shoot! If we get one of those community organizers... I may apply for that job myself… especially if I get to keep any government grant money I don’t spend on the community and get to play with Duke in the afternoons!

July 26, 2008...

I really need to watch what I say these days... ... ... People are watching... and listening...

With that in mind... This evening, there was a news show that discussed honor killings... They discussed a muslim from a north African country that had married a 15 year old girl from the United States... There was reference to him owning land back in his homeland... and he treated her like a queen...

He was a convenience store employee... and things didn't turn out so good for the girl...

We're told by our school and university admissions offices that diversity is good... And you might have to send your children to another school other than the one you'd like, because they're bringing in a diverse group from the world to help everybody become better citizens...

And were told by some politicians, we should be more tolerant of those who don't think like us... and how we should be more accepting and understanding of those who want to bring their beliefs and traditions to our neighborhoods...

Currently on the radio, there are commercials sponsored by the insurance company I use...  I'm not entirely sure, but as I read articles on the Internet, I see this insurance company allegedly had to make good on some allegedly unscrupulous business activities... allegedly... So as part of the settlement... They allegedly agreed to sponsor some allegedly "We'll make good citizens out of you yet!" groups...

Well... I'm now in insurance shopping mode... I know this is something where every company I do business with could be in the same situation, but hopefully they're not linked up with an organization with a name that describes if you're not totally onboard with them... ... ... let's see... how to say it...  "We're a whole lot better than you!"

So... to insure I'm less antipathetic towards others than these people are... I'm shopping for a different insurance company...

...Richard's Roamings...

1.  One more thought for Jesse Jackson I forgot to include in last nights Blog entry… Jesse?  Let me advise you to stay away from YouTube… It’ll adversely affect your self esteem once you watch and listen to the throngs of your old followers say bad things about you… But if you do… repeat after me…

I AM… SOMEBODY!

I AM… SOMEBODY!!!

UP WITH HOPE…

DOWN WITH THE DOPES!!!

I think that's how it goes... It's been 20 years and I wasn't in the crowd...

2.  On Chinese pollution… I certainly hope the big department store in town, knew well in advance China was planning to shut down most industries in 5 provinces so we’d be able to see the pole vaulters at their Olympic games… I hope they bought extra inventory to tie us over till China gets the factories back up and running and the pipeline full of life’s little plastic necessities again…

I can envision the event now… an announcer at the west end of the stadium says…, “He’s off and running… let us know when he jumps!” … Then another announcer at the 50 yard line reports…, “He’s jumped… but hasn’t come down yet!” … then reports again…, “He’s just landed on the mat… and the bar didn’t fall!” “The only problem is, I couldn’t see if he went over the bar or under it!”

3.  If BHO is 50% Caucasoid descent and 50% Kenyan descent, why does one weigh out over the other when he fills out his census form?  If your answer is, “It’s in his book.” Then never mind, because I’m not reading his books…

4.  When reading the Internet's Urban Dictionary... under definitions of Caucasian insults such as whitey, cracker and honkey… I get amused and not upset… This apparently is one of the main problems…

5.  I’d like to thank Georgia State Senator Chip Pearson, Georgia State Representative David Ralston, Georgia State Senator Renee Unterman and Georgia State Representative Bobby Reese for their timely and concerned responses to a recent question posed by Dr. Kate and me…  I continue to hope for a less robotic response from United States Senators Chambliss and Isakson and United States Representative Nathan Deal…

July 20, 2008...

Jesse... Jesse... Jesse... If you're not happy with the new rock star in our midst... You shouldn't have given up the title...

There's a lesson in this... A great American, Alfred "Hooky" Hooks taught me long ago... and now I'll help you out, brother...

Alfred always said, and I say to you..., "If you snooze... You lose..."

Jesse... Here's a video of your better times... when screaming students were all gaga over you... You had them repeat slogans after you and sing civil rights songs... It was as if you were a rock star!

If you had it to do over... You'd have taken them out to the basketball court and shot hoops... It works for BHO...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=0SGkBBPzwow

You snoozed... and you lost... BHO's our new rock star... get over it...

July 11, 2008...

There's so much you don't know about me... like... I've never listed my favorite states... With there being no time like the present... Here they are in no particular order...

Georgia... Alabama... Florida... Tennessee... North Carolina... Kentucky... Mississippi... Louisiana... Texas... Missouri... Arkansas... Oklahoma... Idaho... Indiana... Arizona... Utah... Montana... Colorado... Wyoming... South Dakota... Pennsylvania... Michigan... New Hampshire... and Alaska...

I've never been to Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Idaho, Arizona, Montana, Colorado, Wyoming, New Hampshire and Alaska... but that doesn't mean they aren't some of my favorites...

Why?

Because they are beautiful places and full of antipathetic people just like me...  Well that's what BHO says... anyway...

July 4, 2008...

Thank you to those who envisioned, organized and created this country... and Thank You to all those who've defended this country and served in any capacity to preserve a great land...

I  just finished watching the National Independence Day Concert and Illuminations in Washington, D.C. ... What a nice program...

Today amidst BBQ sauce, smoke and peach pie that come to think about I never partook of... brb... I have to remedy that...

Today started off with a quiet house... while Duke and I started charcoal... and prepped ribs...

During coffee breaks later in the morning I stopped to watch some of the Peachtree Road Race on TV... I enjoyed seeing so many people have so much fun... A man was running in a gray business suit, white shirt and tie... A couple due to get married next week ran in wedding attire... The Very Reverend Samuel Chandler blessed thousands with Holy Water, providing a religious memory for those that passed him...

I forgot to ask Amber if she and Gene were running this year... But I looked for them in case...

I'm not a runner... But I enjoyed watching...

After the smoke cleared and lunch was done... We settled on the front porch and listened to Mom and Dad talk about memories with a patriotic twist... I have video for later on...

Another good part of the day, was watching families and friends enjoying the festivities of the day, whether it was at the road race or the uniformed soldier in Boston holding his young daughter while watching the fireworks and listening to The Boston Pops concert...

It was good to see American Flags being waved in all the crowds and it was especially good to see women in pink outfits being escorted away from those that don't think like them...

Today made me think of Button Gwinnett, Lyman Hall , George Walton, The United States Marine Silent Drill Team... The Sentinels  at the Tomb of The Unknown... Sonny, James, Beatrice, Ollie & Kara,

Thank you to those who have gone this way before...

...Richard's Roamings...

1. I'm still amazed how many American Flags BHO is standing with these days... It's amazing how his handlers have convinced him he needs those, like me that don't think like him... to get elected...

2. I say again... if he's such a good communicator... why does he have to go to towns with unusual names to try and explain the latest stupid situation away... Today it was a speech in Independence, Missouri... spinning patriotism... He should go to Webb, Oklahoma next... He'd be right at home...

3. I don't care what they do in San Francisco... See, BHO... how easy it is to communicate a thought?  Or as Michelle Obama would say it... I really don't care what they do in San Francisco...

4. I went to court and the jail today... Actually went to the jail twice... once this morning... and again this evening... and I'm very pleased with the experience...

5. I'm very proud of my state... Georgia...

6. Am I wrong or isn't the job of the Supreme Court to review a legal case to ensure it was executed according to the Constitution of the United States?  If you don't like what the Supremes say... Fire the politicians that created the un-Constitutional situation... Their job is not to legislate, but to make sure the legislators do their job Constitutionally...

7. Poll updates... As of today... 18.5% approve of job done by the U. S. Congress... While 14.5% approve of the direction of the nation...  G. W.'s approval rating is still nearly twice that of Congress...

8. Who controls Congress?  At least BHO is a newbie...

9. Why is it ok to declare "the system's broken" and then go home and do nothing about it other than making the pronouncement?

10. Hand out earmarks and hide funding in unrelated legislation... and you can get enough congressional signatures to do pretty much anything you want...

My how time flies... It's been 15 days since I typed an entry here and 35 years since I graduated from a small Coastal Georgia high school...

I paid a visit to that not so small county this last weekend... and met with friends, some of which I hadn't seen in a long time...

I also rode around the county to certain places that I am very fond of... A long dusty road... A hunting club I wasn't a member of... Stopping to see oak and pine trees planted by Dad as I drove...

I photographed the old barn that Doris and two big King snakes lived... which was beside the pen where Smut, Zeke, Hoover, Queen and countless others stayed... plus I took some shots of the once sandy road to Darkest Africa where Chopper and I used to run... is now grassed over, but mowed...

I picked up a few pine cones to keep... from beneath the same trees I picked them up (under duress) as a kid...

These were just side trips... because I was there to see friends...

It was good to hear the voices and laughter... It was good to see these old friends...

I lived on the coast during a simpler time...

When a months worth of groceries came home from the Bargain Corner in Savannah, in big paper bags...

When milk and eggs and smaller various groceries were bought at Aunt Bessie's store... I'll forever remember pumping a tank of gas and running in through the screen doors with the Sunbeam bread signs to tell Aunt Bessie I had pumped less than $5 worth of regular...

Then while Mother leaned against the counter talking with Aunt Bessie... I, along with whatever other kids would be there, would go back for a drink of water from the spigot attached to a pipe that passed through the meat cooler... That water would cool off anybody on contact!

Back when there were few posted signs... you know?... A simpler time... and that wasn't too long ago...

Thanks friends... I hope to see you again soon...

An amazing number of democrats voted in this years elections... About 18,000,000 each for hillery and BHO...

During the middle of the day, today...the population of the United States passed a cool number... I like numbers...

304,304,304 people... which means almost 6% of the population voted for BHO and less than that for John...

Also, during the typing of this Blog entry... Approximately 9 minutes...

77 babies were born in America...

41 people died in America... &...

19 immigrants arrived here...

Everyone should be understanding by now, just how big every single issue in America is... and how difficult it is to resolve or change any issue...

Well so far tonight... I'd vote in a heartbeat for Governor Bobby Jindal for President... and his beautiful wife Supriya for First Lady!

I listened to him speak a couple of weeks ago at Dr. Kate's Graduation on May 15th... I was impressed then and I'm impressed now...

Then came Senator McCain... OMG... Nothing to say here but OMG!...

Now comes billery and her 90 year old supporters... oh yes... and the strange acting guy over her right shoulder... Whoever loads the background with the appropriate followers... didn't do a good job on this one...

And another OMG!!!  Does her speech writer that has her talk about the nurse on the second shift have anything else to write... Surely even nurses on the second shift can afford insurance... and don't forget the 11 year old boy that sold his bike to donate to her...

hillery... please retire for the evening... and bring on BHO... before I need health care tonight!

Ok... hillery's on mute... and while she's been muted... let me remind you that she is a member of congress who shares a current and abysmal approval rating of 18.7%... While George W. just has a terrible approval rating of 30.8!

Another OMG is appropriate now...

And now for BHO...

Well... I have hopes for change... and he ain't it...

The change I'm interested in now is to The Outdoor Channel...

June 2, 2008...

Now I feel better... As I was worried about how Trinity was going to pay for Mr. Wright's $10,000,000 house and his $10,000,000 line of credit... I learn from newscasts that you and I have helped them with $15,000,000 in free Government tax money!

On April 28th, I wondered where some of this disposable cash they have came from... And just this past Saturday, I wrote suggesting all you federal tax payers pat yourself on the back for doing so much good on the Chicago south side...

This makes the sermon I heard minister Moss preach about refusing the money from the congressman, who's skin had not been kissed by the sun... either false teaching or they just take as much as they can get from those whose skin has been kissed... one or the other...

I asked Dad, who is a Baptist Deacon, and very familiar with his church's finances..., "How much federal grant money do ya'll get?"

He abruptly responded, "NONE!"

He didn't need to be testy... I was just curious...

After upsetting Dad, I think I need to sign out so I can confer with Duke... Remember, in a recent attempt to insure our income and lifestyle... Duke and I introduced our new business... Duke’s Energy Credit, Security Fencing & Farm Initiative...

I'm thinking Duke and I need to expand into church grant writing... Making it Duke's Energy Credit, Security Fencing, Farm Initiative & Free Government Church Money Agency...

June 1, 2008...

As a follow-up to the Resignation Day... I tuned in to TUCC this morning... assuming it would be a quiet service...

When I tuned in via streaming service on the Internet... The ending to the Communion service was taking place...

I stepped away and returned soon thereafter when I saw minister Moss speaking...

When I arrived and turned up the sound, Mr. Moss was making a Biblical reference to mansions and The Manger...

I'm sorry I missed his text... I'd reference it here if I had caught it...

However... I didn't miss the next statement... This is a near quote...

I don't think many here today know what it's like to live in mansions...

But we sure have the smell of the Manger in our nostrils!

I promptly turned off the service because I agree with BHO... The good young minister Moss, which he has great respect for, should be able to preach as he sees fit without any hindrances...

Again... I did my homework... Have you?

May 31, 2008...

...Resignation Day...

I just listened to BHO speak slowly at a press conference with the main topic being his resignation from Trinity United Church Of Christ.

And... if you read my Blog entries of March 15, 2008 and March 16, 2008... you might agree I got BHO and his ministers correct...

It hasn't calmed down any since those that think like BHO and Michelle started coming to most news outlets near you...  we've met and learned much about them... how they think... we've listened the content and context of their speech... and of course learned about their characters...

They're a hateful bunch... And I'm one of those they hate...

This group of people... wright... moss... pfleger... farrakan... those who slap backs... and stand, applaud and laugh wildly at such as has been taught on Chicago's south side, as well as across the nation in similar churches... has become a roadblock in getting folk such as me to vote for BHO...

And I'm very glad to see that BHO wants to shield Trinity... I agree with BHO... they should be free to continue to indoctrinate their young without scrutiny...

And this guy has the audacity to point out people like me as clinging to my Bible and guns... and the nerve to say that I have antipathy to people who aren't like me...

And BHO...as for my anti-immigrant sentiments... I'm anti-illegal everything!  Don't continue to be confused!  There are way more reasonably intelligent, clear thinkers just like me than you know...

And for all the good we've heard about these Chicago south side churches doing... we're starting to see how much of your tax money is going into these churches... brought by a senator whose skin has been kissed by the sun...

We now know that pfleger's church got at least $200,000 through BHO... and heaven only knows how much Trinity's gotten...

For all you federal tax payers... pat yourself on the back for doing so much good on the south side of Chicago... as we also know that some $20,000,000 went into wright's retirement package...

Give me a break...

I'll say again what I said on March 15th... I like to check things out for myself... None of this crap was a one-time thing...

This can't be spun away as caricatures, or unfortunate sound-bites taken out of context...

This is normal life on the south-side...

Memorial Day, May 26,2008...

On a return leg of a day trip this weekend, our car stopped by and visited cemeteries where some of my ancestors are buried... I find I've been remiss in visiting and maintaining the cleanliness of the headstones...

Many times over the weekend, television showed white headstones and crosses in Veteran Cemeteries across the world.  Just seeing them, brings back the same feelings and sensations as if I was there in person...

Visiting Arlington National Cemetery or any of the other National Cemeteries... reading stories of those buried there and witnessing the guarding of the Tomb of the Unknown... should be on every good citizens list of must do events... Arlington is a very solemn place... rich in history...

I'm thankful to those servants for preserving a great place for us to live... and thank you to those who serve today... continuing to safeguard our nation...

It's a tough job... A rough job... An important job...

Thank You...

May 15, 2008...

Those who keep up with me by reading this Blog... know that I don't post many pictures...

I have other places to post normal photos... with little one-liner comments...

Pictures posted here... are special in some way and are important to my topic of the post...

Today I must post another one...

Today, my Little Girl Kate, graduated from the LSU School of Allied Health Professionals in New Orleans, Louisiana...

I met several of her professors and the Dean of the school...  They all were extremely nice and spoke highly of Kate...

For those of  you who don't know Kate... or know her well... Let me describe her with a couple of one-liners...

Kate has always been a great child... Kate has a grand personality... Kate has a great mind... Kate has a wonderful laugh... Kate is a beautiful lady... Kate is a good tennis player... Kate is so many things, I'd never have enough time to type them here in my little web log...

But of her accomplishments to date... This one's big... for today, my Little Kate became... Dr. Katherine Mawhinney, Au. D.

Again Kate... You've created yet another opportunity for me to say... and I'll say it loudly and proudly again...

Kate... I am so very proud of You and I Love You so much...

May 10, 2008...

...A few more Roamings...

1. On March 13, 2008, from 10:11 pm to 11:09 pm... America's democratic led House of Representatives... went into SSPSS for only the 4th time in 178 years...

For those who believe in open government... you know... democratic sunshine and all that... yet don't understand what SSPSS is... Turn down the volume on this Blog and make sure there's nobody reading over your shoulder... and for goodness sakes make sure the kids are in bed...

Is the room clear... have you checked for any listening devices... and hidden cameras...

Ok then... SSPSS stands for "Super Secret Pink Swear Session!"...

I'm sure it was necessary... Maybe they were selecting a public relations firm to help get their approval ratings up to at least where GW's are...  Yea... That's probably it...

2. More numbers... More $$$... I saw this week where sales of the video game "Grand Theft Auto IV" beat the movie "Iron Man" in their first weeks of sales...

"Grand Theft Auto IV" is a video game with an immigrant gangster main character... bested "Iron Man" by $300,000,000... and "Iron Man" took in $200,000,000... Meaning the two took in over $700,000,000 during their respective first weeks!

This makes the sheet of paper the government sent us, costing only $42,000,000 seem like sofa change...

3. People are really struggling these days, aren't they?

May8, 2008... edited...

...Richard's Roamings...

I haven't roamed since late September... I'm past due...

1.  Just when I thought I knew all I needed to know about the new ruling party in American politics... Another day passes where I hear new talking points that counter their old talking points...  It seems to me, the campaigning democrats are contradicting themselves with many of their statements...  I'm not the only one that's confused... It seems many democrats I know, are confused also...

2.  After considerable thought... I've decided how to spend "my tax money" the government is "giving" back to me...  I'm in my second week of spending it, and am very happy with my decision!  I'm not benefitting from it at all, except for the good feeling it's given me so far... and I've got much more to spend...

3.  How long is it going to take for someone to say the ruling military junta in Burma is denying the assistance of United States in their natural disaster as a result of GW's failed policies?

4.  I wish I had stock in a company that makes American Flags!  I saw Nancy Pelosi today during her photo opportunity and there were so many American Flags behind her, you couldn't even count them!  It was literally like a wad of flags!  Surely she has someone on staff that can consult Title 4 of the United States Code to make sure it was proper... I guess, for some reason, she needs to have more than BHO is using these days...

5.  The Terrapene Carolina count at Washblue is going well... Duke is heading up that census again this year...

6.  By the time this election is over, my opinion of how much my vote counts, will most likely be less that what I've always thought...

7.  I've written recently about how much things cost... Are you paying attention to how much money our politicians are tacking onto legislation such as military spending bills, that has absolutely nothing to do with the military at all... If not... Why  not?

8.  Congress' approval rating is 22%!

9.  We have a lot of land in this country... We have room for many people to come here and live...  Think of all the open space we have... Imagine how good things will be here when there's a population here like in Mumbai, India... Which averages 130 people living on every acre...

I made a mistake!  I'm listening to a mini-democratic convention in Indiana...

The mistake was just finishing supper... I ate the quiche left over from lunch... It was excellent!  However, I'm now listening to hillery clinton and I'm about to throw up!

I say again... If the democrats keep trying... they'll beat W this election... Poor hillery is giving it her best... maybe this time they'll succeed...

She and Barack have proved, as congressmen, they are totally powerless to pass any law or appropriate any funds to help a damn thing!

These candidates are just like Jeremiah Wright... They get up in front of their congregations and say anything they please... Their flocks will believe anything they say...

Why didn't hillery's "husband" stop the recession coming on at the end of his term?  If it's so easy... Then why didn't he come up with "comprehensive plan" to reverse it!  Oh.. what's that you say... It's not that easy?  Oh...  From what I hear from these two ... it's supposed to be...

Yes... hillery... the war in Iraq is costing us a lot of money... and so are the illegal aliens on public assistance of every single kind!

Well... hillery's finished her speach... She passed a cup of Kool-Aid... but I refused to drink... I threw it out on the driveway...

Barack's up next...  And I'm going to try and listen... Right now, hillery is by far the best of the two democrats... which says volumes about BHO...

While I wait on him to speak to the nation... I'll offer him some advice...

Man!  It's me you are trying to get a vote from!  Talk to me!

If you were smart... you'd have had a staff of people like me advising you on a huge number of real middle Americans come from...

There's a huge number of Americans that aren't like your Chicago south-side constituents...

And man, I never expected the term, "White Folks"  to come out of the democratic campaign!

There are multitudes of Americans, just like me, that didn't look at BHO as anything but a candidate, until he brought his whacko's to the front of the stage!

I still haven't seen a reason to change my opinion from that which I wrote on March 15th in this Blog...

Shhh... BHO is on the stage...

I want everyone to know I saved my cup from hillery's Kool-Aid... I'll let BHO reuse it... It's a recycling thing I'm doing in an attempt to help the global warming cause...

yada... yada... yada... applause... applause... applause... inside joke... polite applause... applause...

Ok... I can't take them any more...  I'll throw the Kool-Aid cup in the trash since it's contaminated...

These folks are painful to listen to!

April 29, 2008...

How can I say it?  Let's see...

It's like a cat that's dug in his litter box to cover his poop... The poop temporarily disappears... The job is then complete...

The truth is... It's not very deep... It still stinks... and it's definitely still there...

A few weeks ago... Absolut Vodka ran an advertisement in Mexico that showed a map of Mexico...  This map shows Mexico as it was prior to the end of the Mexican-American War in 1848 ...

And written across the map were the words... "IN AN ABSOLUT WORLD"... A play on words meaning... In a perfect world...

I understand the advertisement went over pretty good in Mexico...

On their website the following (wink-wink) "apology" was posted...

We apologize

Posted Sunday, April 06, 2008, 7:38:29 PM

During the weekend we have received several comments on the ad published in Mexico. We acknowledge the reactions and debate and want to apologize for the concerns this ad caused. We are truly sorry and understand that the ad has offended several persons. This was not our intention. The ad has been withdrawn as of Friday April 4th and will not be used in the future.

In no way was the ad meant to offend or disparage, or advocate an altering of borders, lend support to any anti-American sentiment, or to reflect immigration issues.

To ensure that we avoid future similar mistakes, we are adjusting our internal advertising approval process for ads that are developed in local markets.

This is a genuine and sincere apology,

By Paula Eriksson, VP Corporate Communications, V&S Absolut Spirits

I took the liberty to highlight the word... several... then looked up the word in a dictionary... Those that know me well, know I look up dang near everything in my dictionary...

Several... is a grammatical reference generally accepted to mean more than two... and usually less than seven...

This definition shouldn't be held to such a tight standard... Let's say the upper limits of several is ten times more than 7... so let's assume this nice lady from Absolut Spirits actually believes only 70 of us thought negatively of their advertisement...

What a joke...  I'm sure she's highly educated and lives in a nice house, but she's not very good at apologizing...

If she'd just left out the word several... It's showed a lack of honesty lady... You shouldn't have tried to get me to think that I was only one of  several that were offended...

...

And then I see today, Barack had to go back to the well one more time... He was far more believable this time than during the many previous efforts where he tried to cover up his mistakes of marginalizing his relationship with Jeremiah...

It's good to see him standing in front of so many American flags these days... At his Pennsylvania "race" speech he was in front of no less than eight American flags...

If the man ever wanted my support, he'd have never tried to fool me the first few dozen times...  Just come out and tell the truth man...

Barack's been just like Paula Eriksson deciding which words to choose?

Denounce? Renounce? Vet?... Just words?  Several? Millions?... Just words???

It really matters what you say and not just how you say it...

When you're running for president, you shouldn't need to keep a dictionary close by, like I do...

You either know what to say... and how to say it... or you scratch around in your litter box...

April 28, 2008...

Today I read about Barack's tie to ping pong... Things just get better and better...

I'm not sure why monies these community organizers get from the government, don't go to fighting poverty, hunger, drugs and gang violence amongst many other  in their "organized community"... instead of a ping pong tournament for an employer...

Or why preachers with $10,000,000 houses didn't choose to live in a modest $2,000,000 house and give the other $8,000,000 to care for some of the hungry Haitians in their renowned Caribbean ministry...

I'm sure that'll be taken out of context... But so what... It's what happens to those of us who speak publicly...

I know I need to stop now... but I wonder where the monies for the $10,000,000 house and the $10,000,000 line of credit came from... Must be a high dollar community...

Again... I thought this guy was supposed to be different... but apparently not...

April 27, 2008...

I can't type now... I'm watching the... maybe not "deficient", but definitely "different"... Jeremiah A. Wright Show! I'll be back shortly...

Ok... I had to stop listening to that mess... It's still background noise... But sorry I'll not be able to report on that spectacle...

Now let's get on to the topic of whether or not the average man on the street thinks the following words are in the U. S. Constitution... "From each according to his ability... to each according to his need..."

You can search for different polls taken on this topic... Whether you take the 30% or 45% results of those thinking it is... isn't important...

What's important is...there's a change in our population... There's been a change in the population's thinking...

We've changed from the wild pig trapper... to the wild pig...

But thankfully... many of us are still reasonably intelligent and still think clearly and don't believe anyone owes us anything...

Thankfully there are many of us that understand that the change being spoken about in political circles is a change in power of certain groups of people and doesn't have anything to do with government...

It's loud and clear... It's something they don't have to spin...

Mr. Obama speaks of Jeremiah being his "former pastor"... I wrote earlier of his current pastor... who is exactly like Jeremiah!

To me, there's no difference... You listen... You decide...

Is there a difference in them and me?  You bet there is!

If required… I evaluate someone by the makeup of their person... not by, as Barack's current pastor says and I can quote whether his "...skin has been kissed by the sun..." or not...

And now as I watch the news, I see Barack's "community", where he was a successful organizer,  has yet another public crisis... The number of shootings and deaths from gang violence in the recent weeks is terrible!

The Chicago police are preparing to use weapons that better match the gangs weaponry...

The area ministers point out they don't need to do this... as they did when the police departments of the nation went from revolvers to semi-automatic pistols a number of years ago...

What they say is needed is the elimination of poverty!

Ah yes... as in 1875, Karl Marx, a very famous but dreaded, Eastern European preached..., "From each according to his ability... to each according to his need..."

Now I get it...  This real change will solve everything!

April 26, 2008...

I have a list of things to type about tonight...

My topics could be a new world order... the Absolut vodka non-apology... Socialism... The possible incandescent bulb ban... Whether, "From each according to his ability, to each according to his need..." is in the U. S. Constitution or not... but...

Instead... I'll type about this...

This week, I received an email from a Cousin... It was a forwarded email letting Family members know the following...

Tomorrow (Tuesday) Glynn will have achieved a monumental achievement not often done in his profession.

He will receive recognition for 25 years of Safe Driving! Along with this recognition, he will get his OWN TRUCK - fixed as he desires and he will also be awarded $10,000!!

PLEASE join me in congratulating him by calling him sometime tomorrow to let him know we are so very proud of him!! Your phone call will mean so very much to Glynn and I will be grateful for your help!!!

Glynn's cell phone number is: 770-XXX-XXXX. Please pass this email along to anyone in our family or friends that you have addresses for!!!!!

Thanks so much,

Karen

Glynn,

I didn't call as I was asked to... And I had a pretty good reason... I didn't want to be the one that called during a busy time and cause something that would distract from your achievement!

I started to send an email... but decided that would be between just you and me... and somehow... that didn't seem to be the way to convey my acknowledgement of your achievement...

I read and re-read this email... and was very happy for you!  Your achievement is indeed a major accomplishment that I know you are very pleased with... As am I!

But what jumped out at me wasn't the tricked-out ride you're about to get... or the cash... heck, you give a ton of that to Uncle Sam...

What I heard in the email that reached me third hand, was Karen's excitement and her pride in you!

That, Cousin is also something for you to be happy with and very proud of!

Please note at the top of this page, one of my favorite quotes... "Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate!"

Thanks Karen for sharing your happiness with us... and congratulations Glynn!  I hope every day adds to your record!

April 20, 2008...

Ok... Let's try to bring some of my recent comments to a head... and let some of the items that have resided at the top of my Blog start it's journey down the page...

Most of my entries since March have been concerning numbers and programs that don't get much attention...

In casual conversation and on the news, I hear just a few startling numbers... Most are said for shock value by candidates intending to shock...

I include a few of these in my conversations from time to time, when the person I'm speaking with mentions a number heard from a shockster...

Everything is massive these days and yet we think most of the world is just like it is outside in our backyard...

Well it's not... remember, it cost us $42,000,000 to mail a single sheet note telling us we would soon be getting a check worth a couple of hundred dollars... and we needed to spend it...

And WWII cost us a field of gold and hundreds of thousands of American deaths... leaving hundreds of thousands of grieving mothers... you know the drill... It's discussed everyday in the news...

And this... roughly 3 times more people die every year in the U.S. from accidental falls and the flu, than from firearms...

I'm voting for the candidate that wants to eradicate the flu in America... and puts a stop to those horrid accidental falls!

Ok... enough numbers for now...

I'll just be glad when George is no longer President... and one of the three congress-persons who has been in charge of appropriations and passing laws steps up to the plate...

...and has to listen to those of us who have learned it's ok now to say anything we want about them... when they look as foolish in the Presidency as they have in Congress...

"We have gone forth from our shores repeatedly over the last hundred years and we’ve done this as recently as the last year in Afghanistan and put wonderful young men and women at risk, many of whom have lost their lives, and we have asked for nothing except enough ground to bury them in, and otherwise we have returned home to seek our own, you know, to seek our own lives in peace, to live our own lives in peace."

"But there comes a time when soft power or talking with evil will not work where, unfortunately, hard power is the only thing that works."  Secretary of State, Colin Powell... January, 2003...

"If you want to get the mud out of the stream... get the hog out of the spring"... Johnny Isakson quoting an old saying in Georgia...

"Politics... Poli means many... tics are blood suckers!"... Kinky Friedman

"Numbers" and / or  "Quantities"

1. According to the CDC, every year in the United States... up to 200,000 people are hospitalized with influenza... and 36,000 die!...

2. In 1991, 49% of the 26,513 homicides in the United States were between the ages of 15 and 34...

3. 116,385 accidental deaths were reported in the United States... in 1969... Don't you remember that being a bad year for accidents?

4. An estimate of 4.4% of the African slaves traded worldwide, between 1450 and 1900, were sent to the British colonies and later known as the United States...

5. In the last 5 years, 144,000 Burmese pythons have been imported into the United States...

6. Some 4,000,000,000 pounds of carpet are discarded each year...

7. 1,000,000 vertebrates become road kill every day in the United States... One every 11.5 seconds...

8. America's cost for WWII, in 2007 dollars, was $3,361,041,717,539.69 ... That's almost 3.4 Trillion U.S. Federal Reserve one dollar notes...

9. 418,500 Americans died in WWII... China lost 20,000,000... The Soviet Union lost 23,100,000...

10. Our government recently spent over $42,000,000 to mail a single sheet flyer to remind us they'd soon be sending a redistribution check...

11. In 2007... America used an average of 390,194,729 gallons of gasoline per day...

12. On 3/21/2008, I paid $3.149 per gallon of gas... If everyone paid the same for that average daily usage, we paid $1,228,723,321.62...

13. The "9/10ths of a cent" at the end of the price for that amount of gas equaled $3,511,752.56 & 1/10¢...  Don't forget that tenth of a cent...

14. If every auto in the world had 5 gallons in the tank... that would be an inventory of 3,125,000,000 gallons of fuel...

15. 400,000,000 M&M's are made every day... Which means 400,000,000 M&M's are eaten every day...

16. As of 3/22/2008... 21% of Americans approve of the U. S. Congress's job performance...

17. Three Congress-persons are our top choices to rescue us as our next President...

...Duke's Investment Advice...

The price of a gold Krugerrand coin on 4/6/2008 was $976.45 with the 3% brokerage fee, but no shipping...

According to a website that discusses storage space for rolled Krugerrands... you can store 9,000 of the rolled coins in one cubic foot...

One cubic foot of Krugerrands bought today would hold $8,788,050 worth...

In item #8 above... I used a convenient website converter to change the WWII era dollars to 2007 dollars...

If I were to buy rolled Krugerrands with the dollar amount from line #8 of $3,361,041,717,539.69... I'd have to find a large place to keep it...

I decided to use the Atlanta Dome football field, since the Falcons aren't using it these days...

The playing field is 160' x 300' giving us 48,000 square feet to use...

I will need to stack $70,021,702.45 worth of the rolled coins on each square foot...

In order to see all the gold... I'll need to climb up in the stands to see over the stack... because the stack will be 7' - 11 5/8" high...

April 19, 2008...

Which came first?  The rise in the price of crops or the rise in price of oil?

About two years we started buying corn to feed the critters... You could buy shelled corn for about $4 when we first started...

Now it's almost doubled... As an excuse, they say corn is being diverted to fuel use which brings more money than food grain or feed grain...

The only sack of corn we have now, is the one Gray and I found on the highway that had fallen off the back of someone's truck...  I saw it and turned around so fast!  It was like finding dollar bills on the highway!

I hear it takes a lot of petroleum to produce fuel from corn... But then we are told all kinds of things...

C.R.P... Ever heard of it?  It's the Conservation Reserve Program...  Administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture...

You can read about it on their website... It's where we pay land owners to own land...  I first heard the phrase CRP from a guy who's farmland was used as a hunting preserve... He planted crops that attracted birds... then he charged hunters a hefty fee to hunt on his farm...

He harvests the crops, and the government pays him a little sumpin'-sumpin' for his land too...

It's similar to the immigration system... It's broken they say... Who's going to check to see if he's selling the crops from the land the government... (i.e. YOU) is renting from him to keep under C.R.P.

In an MSNBC article this week, they reported on terrorist groups using food... I heard that years ago...

There's a sinister reason to keep the masses of people under their thumbs... People are beholding to those who feed them.

I've been speaking of Haiti recently... and today I read where President Hugo Chavez has pledged more than 350 tons of food to Haiti... This is the same man who offers low price oil to the poor of the United States...

I still see nothing that will give a nation like Haiti enough rope to pull itself out of the ditch... Just enough food to feed their poor masses for a very short period of time

I think I'm going to go wash up and watch a movie before bedtime... Gangs of New York will be my choice...

It shows how this country controlled things like food in the past... Maybe I can learn something from it...

OMG! OMG! OMG!!!

Tonight... Ellijay, was treated to world class music... and I was there to listen...

Mountain Heart... with a couple of new faces... played to a packed house at a school auditorium...

As if that's not about as good as it gets... their second set brought out a star...

Tony Rice played with the boys of Mountain Heart for an hour and a half... and it was truly incredible...

What talent... What great music... That a treat!

Should great communicators and diplomats need to constantly explain how a volatile statement they made was taken out of context... and then keep trying over and over to spin it until it's forgotten...

Maybe achmood'll understand correctly during the first negotiation...

From what I see on the History Channel about gang activity on the south side of Chicago... The area that Barack worked as a "community organizer"... is in terrible shape!

Maybe he needs to focus on that community again... and not worry about those God fearing, gun owners in Pennsylvania...

Obama wants to equalize the nation... But if he doesn't mind... I don't want my community to even come close to the being equal to his southside community...

Ok... Work with me here... Let me slide some...

I've been periodically taking one of the Internet tests to check my political position... In this Blog, I've spoken about being very near the center of the political grid... Very near...

But... on the last test... I crossed the line...  I've gone to the other side...

My latest results put me .15 points to the left of center...  I know... I know...  But being -0.15 doesn't seem terminal...

It's just a test...  ( I keep saying to myself...)

But in the real world where it counts... I couldn't be further opposite from Barack!  From just about every angle...

When I find something we have in common... I report it...  But I'm afraid it's not going to happen...

I'm so glad Jimmy Carter is going to talk with Khaled Meshal.

I think we need this experience to learn the sit down and surrender technique from an old pro...

I hope they make a home movie... in a tent in the desert... with a few Kalashnikovs leaning against the back canvas flap...

Maybe Jimmy'll have a cool looking character standing behind him like achmood has in a lot of his photos...

You know the kind... a guy with a dark beard wearing a Maytag repairman hat and cool looking green aviators ...

Lately I've been writing about large numbers...  about stacks of gold... and lots of zeros behind numbers and dollar signs...

To be fair, I also need to write about some small numbers...

There are lots of small print stories between bold type sensational stories like... Hugo Chavez Censors The Simpsons... and... Baby Polar Bear Cub Makes Splash!

Some small print stories I picked up on tonight made reference to the price of rice going up 50% last month and doubling since the first of the year...

With little comments about people living on $2 a day being the international poverty line... and places like Egypt having 76 million people... and about 28 million of them living on less than $2 a day...

For some reason, I didn't think Egypt had that problem...

Then there's the turmoil In Haiti right now, where citizens are rioting over the rising cost of living...  Of the nearly 9 million residents, over 7 million of them live below the international poverty level.  Yet it ranks 146th of 177 least developed nations by the U. N. ... Meaning there's some 31 countries worse off than Haiti...

In the Philippines... dealers are being warned they could face life in prison if caught hoarding rice while waiting for prices to rise...  I guess Chicago's futures traders wouldn't last long there...

Oh yes... The U.N. mission of 9,000 peacekeepers in Haiti since 2004... costs approximately $1,500,000 a day...

That's enough for tonight... It's late... I need to turn off the TV and go to bed... It's not very interesting... They're talking about people who are currently training in preparation to colonize Mars...

April 3, 2008...

I'm still subsidizing tonight...

An agricultural subsidy is paid to farmers and farm businesses as supplemental income... The farm subsidy laws not only provide guaranteed income, but manage the crop supply and influence their costs...

There are federal laws that provide subsidies to certain commodities... 25 or so different crops...  This has happened since the early 1930's...

In the early 30's... approximately 25% of America's population lived on the 6,000,000 or so small farms... By 1997, over 150,000 large farms made over 70% of all farm production... and only 2% of the U.S. population live on farms...

There was a good reason to get involved in the '30's... and as it goes with all our governmental programs... the thing exploded to this...

In the report by the Congressional Budget Office on H.R. 2419: Food and Energy Security Act 2007 which is known as the "Farm Bill"... the CBO estimates by enacting H.R. 2419 the USDA would spend some $286,000,000,000 between 2008 and 20012... and $614,000,000,000 between 2008 and 2017...

As you scan down the pages... things like "$600,000,000 in income security caught my eye...

See why Duke wants a piece of the action?

When you have tons of time and are at your sharpest, you can read the CBO's cost estimate for H.R. 2419... Link...

Also... please know the Federals averaged a daily tax income of $71,795,830.14 on the average 2007 daily use of 390,194,729 gallons of gasoline per day in the U.S. ... and some $26,205,478,001.10 for the year...

Give or take a few hundred million $$$...

April 2,2008...

Government subsidies!  Who needs them?

We heard about government subsidies this week as our congressmen were grilling top oil company executives…

I’m not fond of subsidies… such as…

CNN/Money reported on May 24, 2004 that Wal-Mart had been aided with $1,000,000,000 in government subsidies to assist in their expansion…

Washington Post staff writers Dan Morgan, Gilbert M. Gaul and Sarah Cohen wrote in the Sunday paper of July 2, 2006… “Nationwide, the federal government has paid at least $1,300,000,000 in subsidies for rice and other crops since 2000 to individuals who do no farming at all…”

President Bush has requested $550,000,000 for the first phase of the Merida Initiative…  A total is purported to be $1,400,000,000… The Merida Initiative is
